On vacation in Washington and having a little fun working with Painter. I've always wanted to play with Painter but never really had much understanding of how to take advantage of the brushes and paper/canvas textures. However, thanks to a little hands on tutoring by my father-in-law I'm up and running so here's a little work in progress of a masters study of Rembrandt. I'm only an hour in so there's quite a ways to go but it's safe to say that Painter will soon be entering my work flow, at least in part. Photoshop better watch out lol :)

it's a interesting study , the painting effect is so realistic ...
I too have tried Painter , but does not work properly with my graphic Tablet,
although it seems a very good software with lot of option, customisations etc. ...
the right-click menu is the only flaw, at least for me because I need to change the brush size very quickly.

Yes I agree, there are a lot of positive aspects to Painter but at the same time it has many problems. Probably the biggest problem for me is that it cannot handle large file sizes. Than pretty much makes it useless most of the time since I don't have the patience to wait for it. Photoshop is still my preferred software :)
